Elevate Your Mornings...

Morning routines are a hot topic because, let's face it, we all have one. But successful individuals take it a step further by being intentional with theirs. You have the power to choose whether your mornings are filled with negative news and mindless scrolling or with gratitude and energizing activities that set the tone for your day.

 

 

My current home morning routine is inspired by Hal Elrod's The Miracle Morning, with my own personal twist. It starts the night before, where I lay the foundation for a successful morning. I create a dedicated space, free from distractions, with my journal, a pen, non-caffeinated tea, and a book ready to be read. As I drift off to sleep, I envision the exciting things I GET to do the next day, fueling my anticipation and enthusiasm.

 

 

Upon waking, I roll over and perform a few gentle stretches while reciting my affirmations. I then hydrate myself by chugging water, set the tea kettle on, and continue stretching while repeating my affirmations. Following this, I engage in a breathing exercise known as the Breath of Fire, closing my eyes to reflect on gratitude, which I subsequently journal about. It could be as simple as appreciating the comfort of air conditioning or a special person in my life. I also express gratitude for the upcoming events that I'm excited about. Next, I dive into reading a physical book that focuses on positive mindset while sipping on my tea. Finally, I dedicate time to meditation. 

 

 

I like to add something hard in like cold plunge or a cold shower.  This wakes me up and puts the rest of the day in perspective to be easier than meditating in cold water. 

 

 

I block out an hour and a half for my morning routine, allowing flexibility for extended reading or meditation sessions. However, there are days when my routine condenses to a mere five minutes. The more intentional I am with my morning routine, the more productive and content I feel throughout the day.
